Usually, most people who are the friends of the person having his/her birthday would expect the boyfriend/girlfriend to be the FIRST person to do the wishing but, well, I decided to do it a little differently. *grins*

In respect to her wishes of me not to spend so much on her birthday, I decided to make this birthday theme, a memory birthday theme, which I would remember some of the things she like and make it happen.

The day before my swity's birthday, I went out with Ser Wee, my collegue/friend from work, who wanted to get a new PSP at Sim Lim and wanted me to accompany him so to return the favor, I asked him to tag along with me to Raffles City Shopping Center.

Before heading to Raffles City, we went into OG which was beside Sim Lim, and I got her the pajamas which she wanted a while back. It was an awkward scene, 2 guys looking around the lingerie section and comparing sizes, trying to determine the right size for her. -___-"

Purpose to Raffles City Shopping Center: Head to the new Cedele outlet.

Swity mentioned something that she heard the cakes from Cedele were great and planned to have a cake from there as her birthday so I decided to take a look at their varieties.

The one which caught my eye was this 'Chocolate Banana Espresso' and it was written somewhere that it was one of their top sellers so with Ah Wee's help, I bought the cake and planned with them that I'll come by tomorrow morning to collect it.

Before meeting Ah Wee, I ordered a bouquet of blue roses, snap dragons and statics to be sent to her house, since someone hearts blue roses alot. ;)

I had a hard time deciding which bouquet though because all the bouquets were breathtaking. :P

I was completely exhausted the moment I reached home, both mentally and physically, but regardless of my fatigue, words cannot describe how touched I am when I read this particular SMS sent from her...

"Well, initially i wanted to end it but as time passes by, i cant lie to myself but to admit that you have been a part of me till time fly terribly slow without you"

That's really sweet of you sweetheart.

We had a little misunderstanding due to what she mentioned in her blog, but that is all locked up and sealed away in the past now. Case closed. (:

On the day of her birthday, I woke up like around 8am and planned my whole surprise carefully. It was suppose to go something like this...

1) Collect cake.
2) Get ready under her block with cake.
3) Wait for flower delivery guy to arrive (9am-11am).
4) Call her after she receives flowers to come down.
5) Sing happy birthday.
6) Go home, change, dinner.

It turns out that the %@$!*(i can't swear, fasting) delivery guy got lost and spoilt the surprise.

So it went something like, I surprised her the moment she was heading to her grandmom's house by calling her when I saw her coming down the stairs. We lit up the cake under her block but it was too windy so we lit it up at the stairs. Since her siblings were home, she cut some portion of the cake to give it to them and wanted to keep the rest at her grandmom's home. (my hand itches everytime i'm reminded of your home can :P)

We sat under her block after she delivered the cake. I was almost close to the point of giving up waiting and head home to call up the company when the delivery guy called her to double-check her location. (and she thought we were waiting for a friend of mine, hehe)

Well, I had this thought of lashing out at the delivery guy regarding why didn't he arrive on schedule but seeing her overjoyed face kinda soothes all my anger and the bouquet was quite remarkable as well.

It started to rain heavily so we spent the whole day at her house, camera-whoring and all since my digital camera can be used finally.

Overall, I still think I can do better! Ahahax! Till next year sweetheart! Promise!


On the day... 1st September 1989
